Theses

Master and doctoral theses at GSI/FAIR in Darmstadt

In Darmstadt, GSI/FAIR offers opportunities for master and doctoral theses in the following fields of research: nuclear structure and reactions, hot and dense QCD matter, hadron physics, atomic physics, materials research, plasma physics, biophysics and medical developments, theoretical physics, and information technology. GSI/FAIR does not grant the degrees directly but collaborates with several universities, predominantly Darmstadt, Frankfurt-am-Main, Giessen, Heidelberg, Jena, Mainz and Bochum. Candidates will have to comply with the universities' terms of admission for master and doctoral theses.

Helmholtz Graduate School for Hadron and Ion Research

It is a structured PhD program linked to GSI and the FAIR project. It unites GSI/FAIR, several German universities (Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Giessen, Heidelberg and Mainz) and research institutes in supporting doctoral training in the research fields of GSI and FAIR.
The school offers scientific events, soft-skill courses, networking, and coordination of funding and supervision. While it structures and enriches doctoral studies, contracts and funding come from the partner institutions.
