Nuclear Astrophysics

The main focus of Nuclear Astrophysics group is the understanding of the fundamental nuclear processes inside stars, which are responsible for the energy production, the synthesis of elements, and for stellar evolution in general. The underlying nuclear physics is also of key importance for the interpretation of the spectacular observations by sophisticated ground- or satellite-based telescopes, which search the sky in all wavelength bands.

At the following sub-pages an overview of the versatile activities at GSI related to nuclear astrophysics is given.
