HPC Gateway
HPC Gateway is an initiative of the Helmholtz Association. Its goal is to make the world’s unique high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, extensive datasets, and expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) available to companies.
Companies not only gain access to this technology but also receive support from AI consultants, IT managers, and scientific experts who provide guidance on adapting problems to HPC capabilities and data processing methods. The foundation for these collaborations is formed through mutually agreed projects, with companies also contributing to the financing of these initiatives.
The initiative aims to strengthen knowledge transfer between research and industry, promote regional innovation ecosystems in the fields of AI and HPC-driven innovation, and gain a better understanding of the specific needs of businesses when it comes to the use of AI.

Cooperation is possible in all areas at GSI:
Research: The research program covers the entire spectrum of matter formation in the fields of nuclear and particle physics, atomic physics, plasma physics, biophysics, medicine, and materials research.
Accelerator facilities: GSI operates one of the most powerful particle accelerator facilities in the world. This includes the development and operation of ion sources and accelerator components, as well as the necessary tools for operation, monitoring, and optimization.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is crucial for the operation of the facilities and the conduct of experiments. It encompasses building and facility technology, IT systems, and engineering services. Cooperation in this area can help to develop innovative solutions for process and energy optimization.
Administration: Administrative support is another key aspect. This involves the efficient planning, execution, and documentation of projects, as well as the management of resources. Cooperation in this area can help to optimize administrative processes and increase efficiency.
