Culture, Structure, Utilization.
Our Mission & Guiding Principles
Research reaches its fullest potential when it finds its way into our daily lives. Through our foundational building blocks of culture, structure and application, we have established a framework for promoting innovation and transferring it into the economy and society. The following mission statement describes how we, at GSI/FAIR Technology Transfer, work together with partners to realize our goals.
Transfer Strategy of GSI/FAIR
Technologies and knowledge developed through the research and development process at GSI/FAIR can have wide-ranging, meaningful benefits outside our core research pillars (fields). The aim of our group is to enable opportunities for the in-house developed products to become market-ready, creating a cyclic process benefiting both society and GSI/FAIR.
If innovations arise within the framework of the FAIR project in collaboration with partner institutions, they are exploited cooperatively and fairly. To this end, strategic technology partnerships within FAIR are actively developed.
Our Transfer Mission:
Promoting a culture of innovation: We strengthen a vibrant culture of innovation by raising awareness of transfer options, highlighting successful examples, creating effective incentive structures, and providing targeted support and training for future technologies.
Effective transfer structure: We develop an efficient transfer structure that promotes validation and prototype development, supports start-up initiatives, and positions GSI as an attractive partner for industry and small businesses.
The Technology Transfer department fulfills our mission by creating the organizational infrastructure, supporting research teams with analysis and consulting, and coordinating cooperation with internal and external partners to identify, develop, and transfer research results and technologies into applications.
Utilization Guideline
Through transferring research results to industry and society, GSI pursues the goal of helping shape sustainability and prosperity. In return, the successful innovations open up novel revenue streams.
Our commercialization strategy encompasses the protection, rights and use of intellectual property, such as patents. The generation of intellectual property forms the basis for collaboration, contract research, licensing models, and spin-offs. The fair and mutual partnership is key to creating the greatest social benefit.
Spin-offs play a special role in this: they enable technologies to be transformed into marketable products and create new added value.
