Canteen and Cafeteria
The canteen is located in BK1 ground floor.
The coffee barista bar is located in SB1.
In addition to breakfast and lunch, which can be picked up during the regular opening hours, the canteen offers a dinner service.

Canteen Vouchers (Mensamarken)
as of November 1st, canteen vouchers can be issued to students enrolled at the Technical University Darmstadt (TUDa) or the Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) at GSI again.
Students from the following institutions and departments are eligible if their stay at GSI is study related:
TUDa (Technische Universität Darmstadt):
- Institute for Nuclear Physics (IKP)
- Department of Materials and Earth Sciences (MatGeo)
- Institute for Applied Physics (IAP)
- Institute for Automation Technology and Mechatronics (IAT)
h_da (Hochschule Darmstadt):
- KoSE (Electrical Engineering and Information Technology)
- KITS (Dual Computer Science – IT Security)
- KoSI (Dual Computer Science)
This list of institutions and departments is not exhaustive and may be expanded in the future.
To do so, the department (at TUDa or h_da) must apply for admission to the Studierendenwerk Darmstadt.
The Studierendenwerk Darmstadt will then inform GSI of any new eligible instituion.
ALL students are requested to provide a confirmation from their supervisors each semester!

Students can pick up the canteen vouchers once per month at the welcome office during opening hours.
The number of vouchers depends on how many days per week the student is present at GSI.
For collection of the vouchers, please bring your student ID as well as the confirmation from your supervisor.
Students hand in the canteen vouchers to the caterer when purchasing food, and an amount of €1.15 is deducted from the price of the meal.
