Your tasks:

Independent and self-responsible research:

• Functional renormalization group methods for QCD and effective theory approaches at an internationally competitive level
• Independent scientific developments related to exotic phases of QCD matter at high density and their signatures.

Scientific services in the research areas of the group:

• Collaboration with the existing research groups on predictions for HADES and CBM
• Publications and scientific presentations
• Support in supervising bachelor's and master's students and doctoral candidates
• Group-specific organization and academic self-administration.

Your profile:

• A scientific university degree (Master's/Diploma) in Physics or comparable fields
• A doctoral degree in Physics with a research focus on functional methods for QCD
• More than 5 years of research experience after the doctorate in the field of effective theories and functional methods for QCD under extreme conditions
• More than 5 years of research experience after the doctorate with focus on signatures of structures and exotic phases in the QCD phase diagram
• Habilitation-equivalent achievements, demonstrated by relevant publications and presentations at high-profile international conferences
• Fluent English skills, both spoken and written
• Experience in supervising students
• Experience in acquiring third-party funding.

The contract is unlimited. The salary is based on the collective agreement for public employees (TVöD).
