Department Building Safety Systems (GSA)
The Building Safety Systems Department (GSA) is responsible for operating the safety systems required by building codes, including fire alarm systems, emergency and safety lighting, the BOS building radio system, and fire suppression systems. Its responsibilities also include the installation and operation of perimeter security systems, the digital operational radio system, and emergency call stations.
For the safety systems, the GSA operates, maintains, and updates the specific control systems used to manage and monitor these systems within global campus networks and provides dedicated control system functions to specific user groups.
The GSA works closely with the structural and organizational fire protection departments of GSI and FAIR to ensure the proper operation of safety systems.
This includes coordination with the preventive fire protection department of the City of Darmstadt.
