Facility Management and Campus Development (FAM)
The Business Area Facility Management and Campus Development (FAM) operates, manages, and administers GSI's properties, buildings, and facilities. FAM is thus responsible for the infrastructural operation of the campus and enables the operation of GSI's research facilities (accelerators and experiments). This includes:
- Maintenance of existing infrastructure (buildings and facilities)
- Ensuring legally compliant operation of the infrastructure
- Developing the infrastructure in line with the needs of the campus
With the commissioning of FAIR, FAM will gradually assume responsibility for the infrastructural operation of FAIR together with GSI.
Organizational structure
The Business Area is divided into one Division, seven Departments, and two Staff Units:
