Division Plant and Facility Engineering (GAT)

The Division Plant and Facility Engineering is responsible in particular for:

Operation and maintenance of the technical building equipment of all GSI buildings and facilities, i.e., heating, ventilation, sanitation and electricity. In case of problems or malfunctions, please send a fault report using the form. In urgent cases outside office hours, please contact the gatehouse.
Maintaining and ensuring the operability of the technical facilities required for the operation of the accelerator and the experiment setups. This includes, in particular, electrical systems up to 20 kV, supply systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning and highly complex cooling systems, some of which contain radioactive components, as well as the operation of the wastewater systems.
Planning and management of major renovation and renewal projects for GSI's technical facilities.
Participation in the project management of major construction and engineering projects on the GSI campus. This is done by appointing project managers for specific aspects or by providing specialist project support to ensure compliance with GSI standards. This ensures system conformity and subsequent efficient maintenance and servicing.
