Projects & Applications

Projects

In the following list you find links to projects in which the CS group is involved. The links are pointing to the corresponding Web with detailed informations.

  • EPICS - support and developments based on and for the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
    • for HADES
    • for PANDA, CBM, NuSTAR
  • Python - support and development based on Python for small or mid-sized Experiment Control Systems.
    • ACDAQ
      • PyAcdaq
PyAcadq is a Python class library for Automation Control & Data Acquisition Systems. It is meant as a possible substitute (Plan B) for the LabVIEW based CS and CS++ frameworks.
      • Vacuum Heating System
This is the PyAcdaq/pykka based project for the GSI Vacuum Heating System (VHS) to be used at ESR and SIS. It is utilizing PXIe HW from NI. It measures temperatures from analog inputs and applies a fuzzy system to calculate the digital output pulse width ratio for the heating power supplies.
        • Software archtecture is based on pykka.
        • Paho-MQTT will be used to publish process variables to Mosquitto broker.
      • Targetscanner
pytargetscanner contains a Python class library for Automation Control & Data Acquisition System of the TargetScanner.
Python scripts within this project are migrated from exitsting LabVIEW Project: https://git.gsi.de/EE-LV/EE-HB/TargetScanner
        • Software archtecture is based on asyncio.
        • Paho-MQTT will be used to publish process variables to Mosquitto broker.
  • CS - A Control System Framework for Experiments
CS is a framework that can be used by many experiments. CS is a multi-threaded, event driven, object oriented and distributed framework with SCADA functionality. An experiment control system can be developed by combining the CS framework with experiment specific add-ons. CS is supported on MS-Windows and on Linux (real-time OS Pharlap, LabVIEW RT: please ask).
  • CS++ - The successor of the CS Framework
CS++ is the successor of the CS Framework and is based on LVOOP and the NI Actor Framework. Refer to GitLab-Wiki for details. To jump start a new project fork the CSPP-Template.
    • It's depricated with the end of NI Enterprise Agreement.
    • FRA Gas Traget Station
    • FRS Ion Catcher
    • GemDiscProduction
    • RADRIS Laser spectroscopy experiment behind SHIPTRAP
    • SHIPTRAP, migration to CS++ is ongoing
    • Serial Test Facility for SIS 100 dipole magnets
    • TASCA Control System
    • WASA
