Three Magnetic Alloy (MA) cavities are available for acceleration in SIS18. Each of them produces a total gap voltage of up to 13 kV. The operating frequency range starts at 400 kHz and ends at 2.7 MHz (the available gap voltage is reduced above 1.6 MHz), which is a result of the intrinsic broadband behavior of the cavities without any frequency tuning. For the harmonic number h=2, the MA accelerating cavities cover all possible revolution frequencies in SIS18. Therefore, they are alternatively called "SIS18 h=2 cavities".
