GSI participates in the EDITH project: Enabling Digital Innovation & Technology in Hesse

GSI is a Beneficiary in the EDITH project alongside the partners House of Digital Transformation (HoDT; coordinator of EDITH), hessian.AI (h.AI), Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Darmstadt (MDZ), Fraunhofer Institut für Sichere Informationstechnologie (Fraunhofer SIT), TechQuartier (TQ) as wel as SKAD The EDITH project aims to facilitate digitalization improvements for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) and Public Service Organizations (PSO).

Key focus areas of EDITH
EDITH revolves around crucial aspects of digital transformation, with each partner contributing expertise in specific domains. Artificial intelligence is covered by h.AI, advanced digital tools by MDZ, cyber security by Fraunhofer SIT, and high-performance computing (HPC) by GSI.

GSI contributions
Within the EDITH project, GSI plays a pivotal role in two key work packages:

  1. Test Before Invest (TBI): In this package, GSI offers testing opportunities for HPC solutions in the Green IT Cube as part of the Digital Open Lab as joint research & development as well as the provision of rackspace in collaborative projects. Furthermore, GSI is coordinating the entire TBI work package including to keep an overview on the partners’ service offers.
  2. Support to Find Investment (SFI): GSI provides invaluable advice to SMEs and PSOs looking for financing opportunities for their digitalization projects. Our expertise helps navigating the complex landscape of funding and resources for digital transformation.

Upcoming calls related to EDITH key topics
There are several upcoming calls related to EDITH key topics, for instance for making AI explainable and more robust, to investigate and implement AI driven robots, for using AI for cybersecurity operation centres, or for developing and implementing urban digital twins for enabling faster decisions and implementation of climate change measures in cities.

The EDITH project will run till End of January 2026. Its final public activity will be the third and final EDITH InnoDay on January 20, 2026. You can find more infomation  here and sign in directly.
