To ensure the vacuum compatibility of all devices, which have to be mounted into the accelerator, a vacuum acceptance test is carried out before installation. The vacuum acceptance test involves a test of leak tightness, outgassing rate measurements, and residual gas analysis.

Pumping speed measurements, thin film depositions, Electron-stimulated Desorption (ESD), and permeation measurements are also performed in the vacuum laboratory.
