Joint Outreach Office

As the Joint Outreach Office (JOO), we work on making the research at GSI/FAIR accessible to as many people as possible. To this end, we are developing new outreach formats and seek to integrate and refine the existing formats. It is especially important to us to strengthen the connection between GSI/FAIR research and the participating university groups and to make the FAIR research pillars more visible. We invite all researchers and students who have suggestions for new outreach formats to contact us (outreach(at)fair-center.eu). We are glad to support the development of new formats.

One new format that the JOO has already implemented is the SCIENCE POP-UP in Darmstadt’s inner city. It conveys core topics of FAIR research—such as accelerator technology and astrophysics—through an interactive exhibition. In addition, we offer workshops and hands-on lab experiments for students of various age groups at the SCIENCE POP-UP.
