Digital transformation in action: EDITH Innovation Day #3

Coming up on January 20, 2026, the third and final EDITH Innovation Day will bring together startups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), public institutions, and innovation leaders to explore how digital technologies are transforming the way organizations operate. GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung is also a partner in the EDITH consortium.
The event will take place at TechQuartier in Frankfurt, starting at 4 PM, with selected program elements beginning earlier in the afternoon. Participation is free of charge upon prior registration.
EDITH, the European Digital Innovation Hub for the German state of Hesse, is a cooperation with the House of Digital Transformation (consortium leader), Fraunhofer SIT, hessian.AI (TU Darmstadt), Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt), GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung, SKAD AG, and TechQuartier, highlighting the strong collaborative foundation of the EDITH ecosystem.
Within the EDITH project, GSI/FAIR plays a pivotal role in two key work packages: One is “Test Before Invest (TBI)”: In this package, GSI/FAIR offers testing opportunities for HPC solutions in the Green IT Cube high-performance computing center as part of the Digital Open Lab – specifically in the form of joint research & development as well as the provision of rackspace in collaborative projects. Furthermore, GSI/FAIR is coordinating the entire TBI work package to maintain an overview on the partners’ service offers.
The second package is “Support to Find Investment (SFI)”: Here, GSI/FAIR provides expert advice to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and public service organizations (PSO) looking for financing opportunities for their digitization projects. GSI/FAIR's expertise helps to find the right programs in the complex landscape of funding. (BP)
