Declaration on Accessibility

GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung GmbH makes every effort to provide barrier-free access to its website in accordance with national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The legal basis is, in addition to the above mentioned laws, the corresponding implementation resolution (EU) 2018/1523 of the Commission, the Hessian Disability Equality Act (Hessisches Behinderten-Gleichstellungsgesetz (HessBGG)) and the Hessian Ordinance on Barrier-Free Information Technology (Hessische Verordnung über barrierefreie Informationstechnik (BITV-HE)) in the currently valid version.
This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the website www.gsi.de.

How barrier-free is the service?

This website is only partially barrier-free. The requirements according to § 14 paragraph 1 HessBGG are only partially fulfilled.

Which areas are not barrier-free?

The areas listed below are not compatible with the current BITV for the following reasons:

Barrier: Page areas

Description: The side regions and ARIA landmarks are not sufficient.
Measures: The visual regions of the page will be defined as header, navigation, main, footer elements.
Schedule: Correction in 2024

Barrier: Contrast

Description: The contrasts are not big enough in some areas.
Measures: The revision of the contrast-enhanced version is planned.
Time schedule: Revision in 2024

Barrier: Alternative texts for images and links

In general, we are working on the barrier-free implementation of the contents of www.gsi.de and are implementing the regulations of the HessBBG successively and continuously.

Conciliation procedure

The Federal Government Commissioner for the Interests of Persons with Disabilities has an arbitration board according to § 16 BGG. The conciliation office has the task of resolving conflicts between people with disabilities and federal public bodies.

On the website of the conciliation office you will find all information about the conciliation procedure. There you can read about how a conciliation procedure works and how to submit a request for conciliation. You can also submit the request in easy language or in German sign language.
