Management of hazardous substances at GSI

What does hazarous substances management include?

Hazardous substance management includes the documentation of the handling of hazardous substances (hazardous substance register, risk assessment, operating instructions), acquisition (substitution check) and disposal of hazardous substances as well as the implementation of legal regulations (e.g. storage, protective equipment, ...). These responsibilities have been delegated to supervisors, laboratory managers, etc. as part of the transfer of entrepreneurial duties within the line functions.


Are you a manager yourself? Then you can find information about your duties at the information events for managers or  contact us with any questions you have. We will be happy to support you in the above-mentioned points and offer assistance with implementation.

Please note: we have an advisory function. The responsibility for implementing the points mentioned at the beginning remains with the respective managers.


For example, you can use a database system managed by us (Environment, Health, Quality, Safety "EHQS", see further information on this homepage) for your hazardous substance register including the associated document management. We would be happy to inform you about this in a personal meeting and discuss how it can be implemented for you.
