Ambulance or emergency physician's car is called by the person present with the injured or sick person(s).
When an ambulance or emergency physician's car is called, the operations center in Darmstadt usually asks questions regarding the nature of the injury or illness. These questions can best be answered by the person present with the injured or sick person(s). Involving a superior or the Safety and Radiation Protection Group at this point only results in delay.
Once the emergency call has been concluded, the GSI Gate phone: 2210/2205 is to be informed, so that the ambulance, emergency physician's car, fire service, or police can be directed to the correct location. In addition, the Safety and Radiation Protection Department phone: 2700, PSA 4001 is to be informed, so that the necessary and obligatory reports can be made.
An ambulance or emergency physician's car is normally to be called should injured or sick persons require transporting to the hospital or the accident insurance consultant. Only in the case of the most minor injuries, and when the injured person is able to walk, and at his or her express wish, can he or she be transported by means of a GSI vehicle (when available) or a taxi. In such a case, contact the Transport Service phone: 2348, PSA 3421.
All accidents, including accidents on the way to work, are to be reported to the Safety and Radiation Protection Department (phone: 2700).
