Center Evaluation
The center evaluation in Darmstadt with its pre-visits at the institutes in Jena and Mainz last week was a great success and we could present GSI as a highly competitive research center. Knowing about the extreme amount of extra work load this evaluation created, we want to thank all of you full-heartedly for this joint effort. In particular, we would like to thank the numerous scientists presenting our research and facilities to the review panel – on stage and behind, and to thank all those who prepared things on the campus, and without whom the review could never have run so smoothly: Thank you so much for this!
The review panel remarked on the high quality they observed, the positive impression they received from GSI, and praised the spirit of enthusiasm for research they felt on the campus. This positive feedback we would like to share with you and once again: Thank you for the excellent job all of you did!
As the President of Helmholtz Association, Prof. O. Wiestler, said: we should be proud of an excellent evaluation.

Die Zentrumsevaluation letzte Woche in Darmstadt mit den Vor-Besuchen an den Instituten in Jena und Mainz war ein großer Erfolg und wir konnten GSI als kompetitives Forschungszentrum präsentieren. Mit Blick auf die enorme zusätzliche Arbeit, die diese Evaluierung bedeutet hat, möchten wir allen Beteiligten herzlich für ihr Engagement danken. Besonders danken wir den zahlreichen Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern, die den Gutachtern unsere Forschungsaktivitäten und Anlagen präsentiert haben – vor und hinter der Bühne, und auch all denjenigen, die im Hintergrund jederzeit bereit standen und dank derer diese Veranstaltung so glatt ablaufen konnte: Ganz herzlichen Dank Ihnen allen dafür!
Besonders betonten die Gutachter die hohe Qualität, die sie vorfanden, den positiven Eindruck, den sie von GSI erhalten haben, sowie die Begeisterung für Forschung, die sie auf dem Gelände spürten. Dieses positive Feedback möchten wir Ihnen mitteilen und nochmals: Herzlichen Dank für Ihre Unterstützung!
