IT department on call service

In case of a breakdown of computing components which are vital for experimental operating, the IT department provides on call support for the central computing systems. The service depends on beam time periods.

During Beam Time

During beam time periods the IT department provides on call support for the following services: Linux, Windows, VMS, Phone & Network. In case of emergency please contact main control center (HKR), phone 2221. They will inform the IT staff member in charge.

  • Mon - Thr: from 6 p.m. - 6 a.m. the following day
  • Fri: from 3 p.m. - 6 a.m. the following day  
  • Sat - Sun: from 6 a.m. - 6 a.m. the following day 

Off Beam Time

During off beam time please contact the security at the main gate, phone 2205. They will inform the IT staff member in charge. During off beam time the on call service depends on the topic:

  • Linux, Windows, VMS: Sat 6 a.m. - Mon 6 a.m., between Christmas and New Year's Eve: Mon - Fri von 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Phone & Network: Fri 3 p.m. - Mon 6 a.m.

Warning: at Christmas and New Year's Eve no on call duty will be provided.
