Guest accounts to use the WLAN during events at GSI

If you organize a conference or a workshop here in GSI, please apply for a sufficient number of guest accounts for the WLAN in preparation for your event. Please have in mind that many of the participants may have the possibility to use eduroam already.

For the application for guest accounts for your conference or workshop, please send an Excel or CSV file with the data listed below to the e-mail address wlan-service with the subject: WLAN-Accounts Konferenz.

Required data

To create a guest account for the duration of the conference or the workshop, the following data from the guest and his contact person at GSI are needed:

  • Guest:
    • First and family name of the user
    • E-mail address
    • Nationality
    • Home university / institution / company
  • Contact person at GSI:
    • First and family name
    • E-mail address
    • Department
  • Event title
  • End of the event (date)

The contact person at GSI can either be a direct contact for the single guest or the responsible person for the whole event.

It is also possible, that we provide a requested number of guest accounts for the WLAN at GSI an appropriate period of validity in advance. At the start of the event then please send us the required data with the correlation "used guest account - data of the user". The latter procedure should be chosen if you have an event with last minute registration or an open participant list.

The participants of your event do not need to contact the User Help Desk. The identity check is in the responsibility of the organizers of the event.
