Humboldt Award Winner Isao Tanihata at GSI
24.04.2012 | Professor Isa Tanihata recieved the research award of the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation for his excellent research in the field of nuclear phyiscs. His experimental work covers nuclear physics, astrophysics and reactions and applications of exotic beams. Tanihata is a professor at the Osaka University, Japan, and the Beihang University, China. In the context of the Humboldt award he plans several research visits to GSI to experiment at the FRS and study the tensor interaction and the charge radii of nuclei with very few neutrons. The development of a suitable detection system is currently conducted in cooperation with Professor Christoph Scheidenberger at GSI. |
