27.03.2012 | Scientists of the ExtreMe Matter Institute EMMI win Helmholtz Award for Precision Measurements

 

Sven Sturm, Anke Wagner and Klaus Blaum from the Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg and the Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz receive the Helmholtz Award for Precision Measurements endowed with 20.000 Euro. The three scientists are awarded this major prize for metrology for their measurements with hydrogen-like ions. The work was conducted in the framework of the ExtreMe Matter Institute EMMI, the Helmholtz Allicance "Cosmic Matter in the Laboratory" and the Helmholtz Young Investigators Group "Precision Experiments with Stored and Cooled Ions" which are hosted by GSI and the university in Mainz.
