Masterclass for high school students at GSI
30 high school students were invited to GSI on Tuesday, March 6, to evaluate recent measurement data gained from the ALICE experiment at the collider LHC in Geneva. Following introductory talks and a visit of the GSI experiment HADES the participants analyzed real data from proton-proton- and lead-lead-collisions with original software. Afterwards they discussed their results in English in a video conference with participants from other institutes. The event was organised in the framework of the International Masterclasses for High School Students, a world-wide program with more than 130 participating research institutes in 28 countries.
