Special honors for Sigurd Hofmann
Prof. Dr. Sigurd Hofmann received the Nicolaus Copernicus Medal of the Polish Academy of Sciences for outstanding achievements in science on February 22, 2011 and the honorary certificate of the City of Toruń to promote the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus in the world of science. The medal was awarded to him during the meeting of the Polish Academy of Sciences by the President Prof. Michał Kleiber. The honorary certificate Hofmann received two days later by the President of the city of Toruń, Michał Zaleski, on occasion of the XXIX. Aleksander Jabłoński lecture entitled: "The element Copernicium - Why it exists and how it was created".
