As of this month, the high-performance laser PHELIX at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt will have been in operation for ten years. A multi-year research project led by the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung has been investigating the anti-inflammatory therapeutic effect, as well as the risks, of treatment with the inert gas radon. The project has now received a green light for continuing this research.
