Visit GSI and FAIR live - online!

Take part in one of our live online visits and get to know GSI and FAIR. We'll show you the research facilities, from the 120-meter-long particle accelerator to the big detectors, explain the scientific context and highlights, and take you to the construction site of the large new particle accelerator facility FAIR!

As visits to our campus are not possible due to the Corona pandemic measures, we offer the possibility to get to know the research and the campus of GSI and FAIR via video conference.

The 90-minute program consists of a short lecture and a visit to accelerators and research sites on campus: from the discovery site of the chemical element Darmstadtium to the tumor therapy site. Finally, you will get an exclusive look at the FAIR construction site, one of the largest construction projects for research worldwide.

The live moderation will answer your questions. You can dial in directly without registration.

Schedule of the event (90 min.)

  • Overview lecture "The universe in the laboratory".
  • Guided video tour: accelerators and research stations
  • Exclusive view of the FAIR construction site
  • Flight over the FAIR construction site (drone video)
