Slovenia has successfully completed its in-kind contribution to FAIR. Jörg Blaurock, Technical Managing Director of FAIR and GSI, signed the final acceptance documents together with representatives of Tehnodrom, the Slovenian FAIR partner organization. Next to the signatories, also government officials, researchers from the Jožef Stefan Institute, and industry stakeholders participated in the ceremonial event held at Cosylab’s headquarters in Ljubljana.

This year's SPARC collaboration PhD Prize was awarded to Dr. Guy Leckenby from University of British Columbia, Canada, for his thesis entitled “Exotic Decay Measurements at the Experimental Storage Ring for Neutron Capture Processes”. The ceremony took place in the framework of the 22nd SPARC Topical Workshop at the University of Ioannina, Greece, where the award was handed over by Prof. Reinhold Schuch from the University of Stockholm and the spokesperson of the SPARC collaboration.
GSI/FAIR scientist Privatdozent Dr. Michael Scholz received the Ulrich Hagen Prize for his contributions to radiation research at this year's annual conference of the German Society for Biological Radiation Research (DeGBS) in Munich. The prize is awarded for outstanding achievements in German radiation research – typically for lifetime achievement.
GSI/FAIR is collaborating with ABB to improve the energy efficiency of its scientific infrastructure. In the anniversary year Quantum2025, the German Physical Society (DPG) has honored GSI/FAIR in Darmstadt as one of the new quantum locations. This gives GSI/FAIR, one of the leading research sites for particle and accelerator physics, official recognition in the field of quantum science and technology.

This summer, 34 students from 11 countries came to Darmstadt to take part in the GSI and FAIR Summer Student Program. Over the course of eight weeks, they immersed themselves in cutting-edge research, worked on their own projects on campus, and experienced the unique atmosphere of an international accelerator laboratory.
