GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerators for science. Your tasks:


  • Technology screening: Identification of innovations and new developments in the research departments of GSI and the work packages of the FAIR project.
  • Elaboration and validation of application fields: both in the main field of asselerator and detektor applications and in possible secondary applications of the technology.
  • Development of suitable strategies for the further development of inventions/innovations
  • Identification of funding opportunities for R&D projects and implementation, including coordination of the application process in cooperation with the research departments
  • Management of the own GSI/FAIR innovation fund including advising scientists on the application process
  • Management (including initiation, organisation, flanking, etc.) of TT projects
  • Development and coordination of technology marketing measures


Your profile:

  • completed technical/scientific studies with doctorate agree and experience in the field of physics, especially accelerator physics, detector-sensor technology, cryogenics and vacuum technology.
  • Experience in project management and dealing with industrial companies.
  • Handling of third-party funded projects/application for funds/administration of national/international public funding.
  • Ability to grasp technological issues, ability to think abstractly, lateral thinking
  • Structured and independent way of working; ability to plan, understanding of systematics, organisational talent, confident manner
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Flexibility, willingness to travel; teamwork and communication skills

We offer:

The position is limited until 31.01.2025 and in principle divisible. Salary is equivalent to that for public employees as specified in the collective agreement for public employees (TVöD Bund).
