The division of “Superconducting Magnets & Testing”(SCM) is looking to strengthen its team within the Magnet Testing & Technology (SCM-MTT) group at the earliest possible date for an

for the qualification of the superconducting components for the FAIR accelerator facilities. As part of the FAIR project, many superconducting electromagnets will have to be qualified for operation in the FAIR systems in the coming years and tested for functionality during the installation and commissioning of the systems.
Your active participation in the qualification of the components will contribute significantly to the successful start of the FAIR facility.
Your tasks:
- Installation of superconducting electromagnets in the test cryostats
- Installation of various auxiliary devices on the components to be tested for the purpose of carrying out acceptance tests
- Mounting of the components to be tested on the test benches and connection to the utility supply systems
- Set up of measurement devices, maintenance, and calibration of tools
- Simple design and construction duties
- Planning and technical follow up of preparation processes as well as logistics
- Contact person for internal communication with logistics department, design office and Mechanics & Metalworking department
- Preparation of documentation for quality assurance of superconducting magnets.
Your profile:
- Completed technical vocational training (e.g. as a mechatronics technician, precision engineer or industrial mechanic) and further training as a state-certified technician, preferably specialising in mechanical engineering, precision engineering or mechatronics, or a comparable qualification
- Practical experience in assembling of complex technical devices and systems
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- good written and spoken English and German
- Quality-oriented, structured work style with a high degree of commitment and sense of responsibility, as well as strong teamwork skills.
