The international accelerator center FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research), one of the largest research projects worldwide, is currently being built in Darmstadt. FAIR is under construction at the existing research center GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung. At FAIR, matter that usually only exists in the depth of space will be produced and studied in the laboratory, in order to gain new insights into the evolution of the universe and the structure of matter. For the department „Project Management Office (PMO)“ we are looking for a
FAIR Project Risk Manager with focus on BAU/TGA
for the FAIR Site & Buildings subproject (all genders)

Your tasks:
- Independent assessment of risks in terms of cost impact and schedule impact based on the risk topics in the risk lists
- Procurement of information required to clarify the risk situation and assess risks
- Proposals for risk strategy as well as planning and coordination of measures for risk management
- Coordination of the project-specific risk management process
- Further development of risk / opportunity management taking into account the general risk / opportunity management framework of the FAIR project
- Preparation and quality assurance of risk management relevant reports and presentations.
Your profil:
- Completed masters- degree in civil engineering, construction management, general mechanical engineering, process engineering, process technology or supply engineering
- At least 10 years of professional experience in a construction environment
- Experience in risk management, bid costing, supplementary costing in the area of claim management
- Basic knowledge of controlling, accounting and contract management
- Knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
- A high affinity for numbers and graphical representations
- Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
- An eye for detail and strong communication skills, a confident demeanor, and interpersonal skills.
We offer in our internationally renowned research institute, after a comprehensive induction, a versatile and challenging job with a high degree of personal responsibility within an experienced project team. The position is limited to 5 years. The salary is based on the collective agreement TVöD (Bund) applicable at FAIR. Home office is possible by arrangement.
