Notebook projectors and overhead projectors are available. For notebook projection you may use: (a) your own notebook (b) a copy of your talk on a CD or USB stick. Please check with the session conveners before the session starts. Talks may also be sent by email to HB2004@gsi.de (file size not exceeding 10 MB) before the conference. To minimize risk it is advisable to bring along a hardcopy of your transparencies.
Important: As a help for the summary speakers we ask you to turn in a paper copy of your presentation when you register. We also ask you to leave a pdf version of your presentation at the conference desk, which will be put on the conference homepage. Please have the pdf version on a CD or USB stick, or send it to us by email ahead of time.
Duration of presentations:
Plenary talks: 35 min + 5 min discussion
Parallel Invited talks: 25 min + 5 min discussion
Contributed talks: 15 min + 5 min discussion
Proceedings:
All authors are expected to submit a manuscript of their talk(s) for publication in the Proceedings.
The Proceedings of the conference will appear as a special volume of the American Institute of Physics Conference Proceedings (AIP) Series. Electronic submission of the final papers is necessary. AIP can accept electronic files in either PDF or PS formats, and under certain circumstances MS Word files as well. Memory space conserving PDF files are generally preferred. All papers must be prepared camera-ready in uniform format using their style files.
Page limits: Invited talks should not exceed 5 pages, contributed talks 3 pages.
The instruction booklet for authors as well as Microsoft Word templates and LaTeX classes (style files) are available on the website of AIP Conference Proceedings. They can be dowloaded and will aid the authors in the preparation of their papers in uniform format. It is extremely helpful for the authors to refer to these instructions when preparing their manuscripts. Please be sure to download all templates and instructions for the format you selected, which is the 8.5 x 11 inch, double column format. The website also contains electronic files of these forms, the Transfer of Copyright form and the Offprint/Reprint Order form (optional) and information on how to obtain necessary permissions. Each paper must be submitted together with a signed Transfer of Copyright form as well as all necessary permissions for material taken from other sources.
What you need to submit: (a) camera-ready manuscript (pdf/ps) as electronic file plus printed hardcopy; (b) for potential problem solving please add source files and figures (.tex, .eps or .doc); (c) signed Transfer of Copyright form (d) Offprint/Reprint order (optional).
Please bring this package with you either in form of a CD or downloadable with a memory stick from your laptop and turn it in at the conference desk.
Final deadline: Although we would prefer receiving your manuscript during the conference it is still possible to submit it later (by email to HB2004@gsi.de with subject "HB2004 manuscript"). In any case the final deadline for receiving your manuscript at GSI is November 30, 2004!
Questions?: if you have any questions about the proceedings please send us an email.
