3.c GSI Infrastructure – Experimental hall, following the linear accelerator UNILAC. The ion beam coming from the UNILAC will be distributed to the various experiments or forwarded to the accelerator ring SIS.

3.d GSI Infrastructure – Detector prototype for the measurement of ion beam packages. In the GIS accelerator facility the ions don't fly individually, they are combined to ion packets. The detector is used to measure the resolution of the packages.

3.e GSI Infrastructure – Cryo test facility for accelerator magnets. In this test environment superconducting magnets for FAIR are tested. Here the magnets are cooled down to approx. -268°C.
