5.2. HIT - Heidelberg Ion-Beam Therapy Center

5.2.c HIT - Ring accelerator designed at GSI Helmholtzzentrum for HIT, circumference approx. 70 meter. The magnets in Red and Yellow correspond to the system at GSI. Red and yellow are the electromagnets which direct and focus the ion beam.

5.2.d HIT - Gantry designed at GSI Helmholtzzentrum for HIT. The 13 meter high, 25 meter long and 670 tons heavy ion beam gantry can direct the ion beam around immobilized patients.
