Tasks: The term technology comes from the Greek word "Techni" that means art, talent, skill craft and trade. Technology comprehends the process engineering today. The term includes not only proceedings and methods but also tools and organisation. Finally technology involves the knowledge and the possibilities of an engineering field. Based on this meaning of the term technology the tasks of Technology Laboratory are the following: Brazing, soldering and other bonding techniques for the manufacturing of modules Brazing of stainless steel, copper, ceramics and special materials Development and application of new techniques for bonding Testing of new brazing and adhesive materials Heat treatment of metallic components to adjust specific mechanical and technological properties Leak detection of vacuum chambers and complex apparatuses by helium detectors Electroplating (coatings of copper, silver, gold, nickel and zinc) Specific assembly work and checking during the initial operation of prototype components of the accelerator Mounting and proving of devices in connection with new proceedings Expert advice Metallographical investigations Material analysis FEM-calculations
