Introduction
The Control System group of the division Experiment Electronic (EE) at GSI-Darmstadt provides support for experiment control and automation systems.
The functionality of experiment control systems at GSI has to cover the wide range from distributed SCADA down to remote DSP/FPGA programming. They must be very flexible and configurable at runtime. Because of very advanced timing and safety requirements hardware and software cannot be addressed separatly. Due to the distributed development of subsystems in international collaborations and limited resources control systems have to deal with heterogenous environments.
