With experiment superstructures it is always necessary that several devices communicate with one another. The simplest case is a serial connection between equipment and the PC. Besides the serial interface (called RS232) is used.

If several devices are to communicate with one another, a bus system is necessary. In the course of the time a large number of different bus systems developed, which were adapted different tasks to have and to special requirements. In addition there is a small basic side.

In order to simplify the selection, I have an allocation into local penalty, the one maximum length of 5m do not exceed (local of bus systems) and field penalty, which devices in areas and buildings interconnect, made.

serial lokal bus:
  • RS232/RS485
  • I2C
  • USB
  • IEEE-1394 (FireWire)

fieldbus

  • AS-i (Aktor Sensor interface)
  • CAN-Bus
  • ControlNet
  • EIB (Europäischer InstallationsBus)
  • Ethernet
  • Interbus
  • Lightbus
  • Profibus
  • SafetyBUS p
  • SERCOS interface (SErial Realtime COmmunication System)
