Medical Diamond Sensorsfor Light Ion Beam Therapy of Cancers

MEDISENSE is a FP7 proposal, submitted for evaluation to the EC in September 2008.The objective of this project is the development of advanced CVD-diamond detectors for ion-beamtumor therapy with carbon ions and lighter charged particles. In a joint research effort withexperienced physicists, engineers and young researchers, the ESRs will be trained in selectedtopics of novel medical physics with cross-disciplinary fields in material science and solid-statedetector physics at the highest level.
