What to do in an Emergency?

For transportation of an injured or ill person to the hospital or to the doctor, an ambulance or emergency ambulance is always to be called:

Emergency ambulance 112
Ambulance 19222

The ambulance or emergency ambulance is called by the person who is with the injured or ill person.

The emergency call should include:

Who calls? Name and Location

Where did it happen? Precise description of the location where accident or illness happened

What happened? How many injured or ill persons?

In case an ambulance or emergency ambulance is called, the emergency centre in Darmstadt will most probably ask what kind of injuries or what kind of illness happened, which can answered best by the person who is with the injured or ill person. It would only cost time to call first a superior or the department for safety and radiation protection. After calling the ambulance or the emergency ambulance, the GSI gate is to be informed (2210 or 2205) so that the ambulance or emergency ambulance can be directed to the right place.

Only with slight injuries and if the injured person is capable of walking, and only on his/her explicit request, transportation by a GSI car – if available – or by taxi would be possible. In this case, please call the motor pool 2348, PSA 12-3421-phone number of local phone where you are.

With every accident, also with travel accidents, the department for safety and radiation protection is to be informed (2400 or 2700, PSA 12-4001-number of your phone), to make the necessary and compulsory notifications.
