Materials Research
Program Advisory Committee (Mat-PAC)
GSI has established a Materials Research Program Advisory Committee (Mat-PAC) that evaluates experiment proposals submitted to GSI in the area of materials research. The Mat-PAC members give advice to the GSI directorate on selecting experiment proposals that are submitted by individual users or user groups. Following periodic calls for proposals, the Mat-PAC meets once every year to once in two years. The Mat-PAC evaluates the experiment proposals on the basis of scientific merit and technical feasibility, and makes recommendations on the amount of beam time to be allotted.
Submission of Proposals
Proposals can be submitted electronically via a webform for Mat-PAC proposals. This requires the uploading of a 2-page project description (pdf-file) containing the aim of the experiment, expected results, experimental procedure, justification of requested beam time and indication of some references.
Further information on scheduling of beam time is given under the website: Beam Time.
