Directions

By train:

From the Central Station several busses pass the UMCG (the Academic Hospital), bus lines 4 and 7 for example. When you get off the bus at the UMCG (‘UMCG/Hoofdingang’), you will see NH Groningen Hotel at the opposite side of the UMCG.
Bus line 4 (direction ‘Oosterpark’) departs at .21 and .51 on Sundays (until 21:21; after that at 22:03, 22:33, etc.) and at .20 and .50 on week-days during daytime.
Bus line 7 (direction ‘Vinkhuizen’) departs at .41 on Sundays and at .05 and .35 on week-days. It takes between 5 and 10 minutes to get from the Central Station to the UMCG. Tickets can be bought on the bus.
Alternative options to get from the Central Station to the NH Hotel are to take a taxi or to walk (~2 km.)

By car:

From Amsterdam/Afsluitdijk/Drachten (A7) follow the ring road (N7) until exit “Centrum/(H) UMCG”. Take this exit and turn left at the traffic lights. Now you are on the Europaweg and follow the signs “UMCG hoofdingang”. The parking from the UMCG will be in front of you, and you will see NH Groningen Hotel on your left-hand side.

From Assen/Zwolle (A28) you will approach the junction “Julianaplein”. Here you turn right. Follow the ring road (N7) until exit “Centrum/(H) UMCG”. Take this exit and turn left at the traffic lights. Now you are on the Europaweg and follow the signs “UMCG hoofdingang”. The parking from the UMCG will be in front of you, and you will see NH Groningen Hotel on your left-hand side.

From Hoogezand/Winschoten/Germany (A7) you will approach the centre of Groningen by the Europaweg. Follow the signs “UMCG hoofdingang”. The parking from the UMCG will be in front of you, and you will see NH Groningen Hotel on your left-hand side.

When you arrive by car, it is possible to drop of your luggage in the hotel. You can park your car in the parking from the UMCG. This parking is open 24 hours a day.

After that: € 1,50 per hour
Maximum rate for 24 hours: € 15
Charge at night: During weekdays between 21.00 hours at night and 08.00 hours in the morning the parking is free of charge. This will automatically be deducted when you pay the parking. You do not need a special hotel ticket for this.
Weekend: From Friday 21.00 hours till Monday 08.00 hours the parking is free of charge **.

** with a special ticket which you have to collect from the front desk of the hotel, you will get a free parking ticket at the front desk of the hospital. We advise you to go to the front desk of the hotel before you park you car, so we can provide all the correct details about the parking facilities.
