EURONS - the Project

EURONS (RII3-CT-2004-506065) is the Integrated Infrastructure Initiative of European nuclear structure scientists from 45 institutions in 21 countries. The aim is to reflect the community at large within an equal opportunity structure. It is a coherent and complementary ensemble of Networking, Transnational Access and Joint Research Project Activities underpinning new European large-scale projects and commitments.

EURONS has started 1^st January 2005 and will receive funding from the EC for the duration of 4 years.

The level of European integration, made possible by EURONS, will further boost the gain of scientific knowledge expected within the funding period in this field of fundamental science. Moreover, in accordance with the long-range plan for the field, presently elaborated by the "Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee" (NuPECC), it will significantly contribute to the preparation of the future landscape of competitive facilities for the 2010 horizon.

Report 2008 accepted!

August 2009 - GSI has received the approval letter for the EURONS annual report 2008 from the Commission! GSI has also already received the payment of about 1.1 Million Euro. The final payments will be transferred to you very soon.

Report 2007 accepted!

3rd September 2008 - GSI has received the approval letter for the EURONS annual report 2007 from the Commission (sent 2nd September 2008)! GSI has also already received the payment of about 1.8 Million Euro . According to the decisions of the next GA Meeting in Rhodes, the appropriate amounts will be forwarded to you right after the Meeting. 27th May 2008 - GSI has finally received the approval letter for the EURONS annual report 2006 from the Commission (sent 21st May 2008)! GSI has received the payment of about 3.7 Million Euro 24th April 2007. 26th April 2007 the appropriate amounts were forwarded to you! Dear Colleagues and Friends of EURONS - you can now download here the placemarks of the participating institutions for Google Earth (http://earth.google.com)! Check out the locations of the laboratories and have a tour between all 44 of them! Save the .kmz file to your computer and open it with Google Earth to load the placemarks into the program.

As some of the institutions might not have been placed properly simply due to a lack of knowledge, please feel free to send us the correct position of the misplaced institution so we can update the placemark file.
