On Thursday, 6th april 2006 a new employees' council has been elected for the period 2006-2010. Out of 993 employees entitled to vote 510 (51%) have used this right.

The official list of candidates for the election of the new Employees' Council on April 06, 2006, has been accepted by the election committee, the names of the candidates are listed above. Voters may select up to 13 names from the 17 candidates listed on the ballot.
Employees who will be absent on April 6, 2006, may obtain ballots and instructions for the postal voting procedure from G. Kunz, IT/EE office (Room 2.263, Ph. 2527) daily from 9 -14 h, starting on Monday, March 13, 2006.

First Information
The election for GSI's new Employees' Council will most probably take place on Thursday, April 06, 2006. The election is being organized by a committee chosen by GSI's present Employees' Council. The number of employees eligible to vote is around 1000. The number of members of the council will be 13(15), if the number of GSI-employees will be below (above) 1000 on April 06, 2006.

The official start of the election process will be on February 20, 2006, 3 p.m. The announcement will be posted at a bulletin board next to the GSI canteen. Thereafter, until March 06, 2006, 3 p.m., voters can check the list of eligible voters (on display in the meeting room of the Employee's Council) and, if necessary, file a protest. They also can propose candidates for the election. Candidates will have a chance to introduce themselves in the GSI auditorium at 2 p.m. on March 08, 2006.

It is important that also foreign-language speaking members of GSI understand the texts in connection with the election. Therefore, supervisors and contact persons of foreign-language speaking colleagues are kindly asked to call the election process to their colleagues' attention.
