Dear colleagues,

The date for the HIF 2010 Symposium in Darmstadt (August 30th – September 3rd, 2010) is approaching. We are currently in the process to finalize the agenda. We try very hard to accommodate also the contributions sent to us recently.

The Symposium will take place at the lecture room of the Nuclear Physics Institute at Technical University Darmstadt.

Please note that on Tuesday 31^st, August 2010 we will be at GSI Darmstadt. For this very day the conference will take place there. Buses are arranged.

On the afternoon of Sunday 29^th, August 2010 we will have a registration and reception session starting at 16:00 until 20:00 , the location is:

This is the old Darmstadt State Theatre and it is located very close to the Nuclear Physics Institute and within walking distance to the hotels.

We will start the meeting on Monday 30^th, August 8:00 a.m. with additional time for registration. The opening ceremony will start at 8:45 a.m.

Proceedings will be published as follows:
a) a short version of up to 2 pages in the High Energy Density Physics report published by the HEDgeHOB collaboration at FAIR;
b) extended papers may be submitted to Laser and Particle Beams, Cambridge University Press. These papers, however, have to fit the scope, style and quality requirements of LPB.

Social activities
We have planned a conference outing and dinner across the river Rhine on Wednesday afternoon. Accompanying persons are welcome, the charge is 60€.

For Thursday evening we plan to have a simple get together with dinner in a vineyard. Again, accompanying persons are welcome at a charge of 25€.
