Nuclear Astrophysics at GSI
The main
focus of Nuclear Astrophysics is to understand the fundamental
nuclear processes inside stars, which are responsible for the energy
production, the synthesis of elements, and for stellar evolution
in general. The underlying nuclear physics is also of key
importance for the interpretation of the spectacular observations by
sophisticated ground- or satellite-based telescopes, which search the
sky in all wavelength bands.
This
page gives an overview of the versatile activities and experiments at
GSI and puts them into context with the corresponding topics in Nuclear
Astrophysics.
