Take R. Saito (t.saito@gsi.de) , Prof. Dr., Office C27 1.015, Tel +49 (0)6159 71 2032 Group leader. Spokes-person of the HypHI project. Take is funded by Helmholtz association as a group leader of a Helmholtz-University Young Investigators Group for the HypHI project since April 2006.
Shizu Minami, Dr., Office SB2 2.261, Tel +49 (0)6159 71 2491 Staff physicst in the GSI Experiment Electronics Department. She was a postdoc in the group from January 2006 till December 2007. Shizu is in charge of the tracking trigger system for the HypHI project. She is an expert on fast logic modules with FPGA. She is also contributing to the trigger system of the MAMI C KaoS hypernuclear experiment.
Sebastien Bianchin, Dr., Office C27 1.016, Tel +49 (0)6159 71 1627 Postdoctoral fellow since October 2007. Sebastien is in charge of the TOF detectors for the HypHI project, including the start counter for the TOF measurements (TOF-start), TOF+ for positively charged particles and the ALADiN TOF wall for negatively charged pions. He is also in charge of the HypHI IT environment together with Christophe. He is an expert on the physics of the fragmentation reactions.
Banu Oezel, Dr., Office C27 1.017, Tel +49 (0)6159 71 1628 Postdoctoral fellow since March 2008. She is in charge of all the tracking detectors for the HypHI Phase 0 experiment, such as the scintillating fiber detectors and drift chambers. She is also working on Monte Carlo simulations. She is an expert of the nuclear resonance states.
Olga Borodina, Office C27 1.016, Tel +49 (0)6159 71 1627 PhD student
of GSI and Mainz University since April 2008. Olga stayed also in the
group since September 2007 till March 2008 as a research assistant. She is working for the TOF detectors including TOF+, TOF-start and the
ALADIN TOF wall. Olga is also in charge of the framework of the
software for Monte Carlo simulations and data analysis with Christophe.
Vakkas Bozkurt, Office C27 1.018, Tel +49 (0)6159 71 1629 PhD student
of GSI and Nigde University in Turkey since March 2009. Vakkas is currently working on TOF+ and the ALADiN TOF wall.

of GSI and Seoul National University in South Korea since June 2009. Eunhee is currently working on the drift chambers. Daisuke Nakajima, Office C27 1.017, Tel +49 (0)6159 71 1628 Ph.D.
student of Tokyo University stationed at GSI since late
2006. Daisuke is currently in charge of the scintillating fiber detectors and
drift chambers together with Banu. In addition, he is in charge of the framework of
the software for Monte Carlo simulations, data acquisition and data
analysis with Christophe.
Christophe Rappold, Office C27 1.018, Tel +49 (0)6159 71 1629 PhD student of GSI and Universite Louis Pasteur Strasbourg (ULP) since October 2006. He stayed at the group as a French internship student, and he has already obtained master degrees of physics at ULP and of engineering at Ecole Nationale Superieure de Physique de Strasbourg (ENSPS) for working on the design study of a TOF wall for positive charged particles (TOF+) for the HypHI phase 0 experiment. Christope designed the TOF+ wall, and he is currently working on the trigger system and design studies of the HypHI project. In addition, Christophe is in charge of the framework of the software for Monte Carlo simulations, data acquisition and data analysis. He is also in charge of the HypHI IT environment together with Sebastien.

Former members
Myroslav Kavatsyuk, Dr. Myroslav was a postdoc in the group from October 2005 till January 2007. He is currently a staff physicist at KVI.
Olka Lepyoshkina Olga was a diploma student in the group and in Mainz University from April 2006 till August 2007. She is currently a PhD student in the Technical Unoversity Munich.
Takashi Mochizuki Takashi stayed in the group as a master student of Osaka University from August till November in 2007. He worked on the Z=2 trigger system.
People working very closely with our group
Patrick Achenbach, Dr. Physicist in Mainz University. Patrick is in charge of the MAMI KAoS experiment. We work together with Patrick on the fiber detectors and tracking trigger for the HypHI project.
Shuhei Ajimura, Professor Dr. Professor in RCNP Osaka University. We work together with Shuhei on the Kaon detectors for the HypHI project.
Hyoung Chang Bhang, Professor Dr. Professor in Seoul National University. Hyoung Chang is interested in the hypernuclear non-mesonic weak decay in the HypHI project.
Tomokazu Fukuda, Professor Dr. Professor in Osaka Electro-Comminication University. Tomokazu is working on all the issues on the HypHI project.
Jan Hoffmann Electronics engineer in the GSI Experiment Electronics Department. He developes VME trigger modules for the HypHI project.
Nik Kurz, Dr. Physicist in the GSI Experiment Electronics Department, being in charge of the DAQ system based on MBS. Nik also contributes hugely for the development of the VME trigger module.
Frank Maas, Professor Dr. Head of the Hadron Physics Department II at GSI and a professor in Mainz University. Frank is working on all the issues on the HypHI project.
Yutaka Mizoi, Dr. Physicist in Osaka Electro-Communication University. Yutaka is contributing to the fiber detectors for the HypHI project.
Josef Pochodzalla, Professor Dr. Professor of Mainz University, leading the hypernuclear physics group there. Josef is leading the MAMI KAoS experiment and is the spokesperson of the hypernuclear physics experiment with PANDA at FAIR. He is supervising the group on all the issues.
Atsushi Sakaguchi, Professor Dr. Professor of Osaka University. Atsushi works on all the issues on the HypHI project.
Alicia Sanchez-Lorente Ph.D. student of Mainz University under supervision of Professor Josef Pochodzalla. Alicia is working on the γ-ray spectroscopy with the PANDA experiment at FAIR with a strong cooperation of the Hadron Physics Group (KP3) at GSI.
Hirokazu Tamura, Professor Dr. Professor in Tohoku University. The spokesperson of the Hyperball and Hyperball-J projects. We work together with Hiro on the hypernuclear gamma-ray spectroscopy.
Kiyoshi Tanida, Professor Dr. Professor of Seoul National University. Kiyoshi works on all the issues on the HypHI project. Wolfgang Trautmann, Professor Dr. Physicist in the GSI KP3 department. Wolfgang is leading the ALADiN experiment. We work together with Wolfgang on TOF walls.
