International Workshop on Hypernuclei with Heavy Ion Beams (HypHI05)
June 20th – 21st, 2005 Gesellschaft fuer Schwerionenforschung (GSI), Darmstadt, Germany http://www.gsi.de/forschung/kp/kp2/experiments/HYPERNuclei/Hyphi05.htm
===== First Circular =====
We are pleased to inform you that an international workshop on Hypernuclei with Heavy Ion Beams (HypHI05) will be held at Gesellschaft fuer Schwerionenforschung (GSI), Darmstadt, Germany on 20-21 June 2005.
Scope and Topics
Hypernuclei have been investigated for four decades as a micro-laboratory to study baryon-baryon interactions under flavor-SU(3), and they are extensively studied with meson and electron beams over the world. An experiment in late 80’s at JINR proved that heavy ion beams can be used for the hypernuclear spectroscopy, and it has been suggested that the heavy ion induced hypernuclear production is a powerful tool to study protn/neutron rich hypernuclei and hypernuclear magnetic moments. Hypernuclear projects with heavy ions have recently been proposed at JINR, GSI and possibly J-PARC in future, however consequences of hypernuclear physics with heavy ion beams have not been well discussed yet. The present workshop will focus on the hypernuclear physics with heavy ion beams, and it will cover the following subjects, - Hypernuclear spectroscopy with heavy ion beams, - Hypernuclear magnetic moments, - Physics with multi-strangeness, - Neutron and proton rich hypernuclei, - Recent and near future progress in the hypernuclear physics.
