NUSTAR - NUclear STructure, Astrophysics and Reactions

NUSTAR collaboration is concerned with the study of NUclear STructure, Astrophysics and Reactions. Current experimental programmes concentrate on the SIS/FRS and UNILAC/SHIP facilities at GSI Darmstadt, supported by corresponding theoretical studies. As a step forward, the NUSTAR community is now concerned with the prosecution of studies of these topics as part of the FAIR facility to be constructed at GSI Darmstadt by an international consortium. Much of the research interest of the NUSTAR collaboration is focussed on the use of beams of radioactive species separated and identified by the Superconducting Fragment Recoil Separator (Super-FRS) to be built as part of the first phase of the FAIR facility.
