Investigations into Biological Effects of Radiation
Using the GSI Accelerator Facility
(IBER)


GSI is the European facility selected by ESA to perform research in biological effects of space radiation. The IBER project started in 2008 and its first phase will end in 2011. Thirteen proposals were selected and are currently performing experiments at GSI.

IBER-10 Program started:

The new European Space Radiation Research Program IBER-10 has been now approved. You will find all the information on this webpage.

The first IBER-10 beamtime will be: April 2-9, 2012
The beam will be 24Cr, 1 GeV/n (LET in water 128 keV/micron).

The next window will be: May 11-14, 2012
The beam will be 12C, energies between 100 to 1000 MeV/n.

Please send the necessary forms at your earliest convenience, especially if you are interested in the April beamtime!
