QUAntum Systems and advanced Accelerator Research (QUASAR)
Helmholtz-University Group
Kirchhoff Institute for Physics
University of Heidelberg
The group QUASAR is founded by the German
Helmholtz-Society
The group works on the development of novel beam acceleration and manipulation techniques, as well as on the investigation of the dynamics of quantum systems.
The main fields of activity are:
- Kinematically complete investigation of the interaction of ion beams in storage rings with atom molecule gas jets
- Layout and assembly of elements for the manipulation of the beam structure in an electrostatic storage ring
- Numerical simulation of novel accelerating structures
- Development of innovative beam diagnostic techniques for future particle accelerators
